I am evaluating CFD but I cannot get it to start. I get as far as the splash graphic, followed by clear death. There is no error message, nothing, just clean exit. Go to Solution. Solved by David.
I have the same behavior on the version of CFD student license too , but the version runs fine for me. I’m having the same problem, when I try to launch the program it shows the splash screen for a moment and then it closes. When I run it as an administrator I get an error report, otherwise it only closes. I’m using an educational license, too. I was able to run CFD on my machine, a laptop with a 2. I’ve already tried the CFDConfig. Thanks for all the information.
I have moved this thread over to the installation and licencing forum as we think that seeing as there are so many of you all with educational licences it must be related to licensing.
Also since you are all using up to date graphics drivers and running as admin it is unlikely hardware or software. Also, when you install CFD Ultimate you will be prompted you install Fusion if not installed already on the device it offers migrated SimStudio Tools. Please “Accept As Solution” if a reply or replies have helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.
Autodesk CFD Ultimate is what I have installed and is the only application on my system that does not start. It is the only application that did not start without showing any error, ever in my memory. Since your success seems to be the odd one out, please tell us what version of Windows 10 are you using. Maybe that can provide us with some insight. Previous CFD installations seem to be another common thread in this problem. Try run the software in 30 days trial mode: if it starts without issues, then the problem is related to the student license.
How can I do that? How do I remove the current license? I was never asked to enter it. I believe that since license details are populated automatically during installation. Hello vmajor , dk. When I follow the instructions to remove the license and start CFD again, a licensing application window pops up saying to wait while the license is being verified.
I then receive an email with my license information, followed by CFD quitting. I am not sure what do you mean by using “Windows Utilities”. There are no critical errors in logs and I am not going to start hacking through registry files. As I said, the only application that is failing to run, and evidently has a valid license, is CFD As a fallback it would be great if you could point me to the CFD installation files.
That one ran well. I had to uninstall it to make space for CFD I listed those solutions because we have several members with this issue on this post, sorry if it was confusing I didn’t mean to do that.
I am also using a free education license. I have never used a previous version of CFD so I cannot download or install versions prior to I am not sure what you mean by “Free Software” and “Scroll down” and “appearing within h”.
What I did manage to do was look up my licenses under the Autodesk account and download CFD from there. I installed it again and it runs. There are no licensing issues or sudden exits. Is there any progress being made regarding solving the licensing issue with CFD , or has it been relegated to “user error, will not fix” status? Let me know so that I can stop waiting or trying to make it work. The background on my issue is that I had the older CFD installed but never ran it until last week. CFD would start and run, but I was having licensing issues.
I was advised by natasha. I’ve repaired, reinstalled, cleaned out the temp folders, and performed various ‘clean install’ methods found in different threads of the forum to no avail. I’ve updated all drivers with no luck. I did not record any of the CER numbers and cannot find the folder where they are kept, I’m assuming they would be deleted once I perform the repair tool. Once I select to run as Admin, it just performs a clean death during the splash screen exactly as described above.
I was able to get the CFDconfig file to run once as admin during one of the installs but have not succeeded since then. I am running an educators license on iU 2. I know is not a simulation computer, but the software should still open. I have not tried installing on my Desktop yet which has a much better GPU but older processor, but hope to try sometime this weekend.
Regardless, I would prefer to have this on my laptop so I can casually sit around the house and learn the software instead of being holed up in my office. Subscription, Installation and Licensing. I will keep an eye on things as well. Message 26 of Thank you very much for the reply, I’ve noticed another thing that could suggest that the problem is linked with the license: I’ve downloaded the autodesk desktop app for windows, and it shows the active licenses for other autodesk products that are installed on my computer, but I can’t find Cfd Cheers Giorgio. I just reinstalled Cfd with a fresh download and it works. Did exactly the same what I did several times before. Message 32 of Message 33 of
